The Centre for Access to Services in English (CASE) is launching Season 2 of its podcast, MCQ Views and Voices, and this time it's digging through 200 years of underresearched English history.
This second season, devoted to a special series called, "From Burton to Barton,” is the first concerted effort to give an overview of the history of English speakers in the region. The season begins in 1760 with the first military governor of Trois-Rivières, Ralph Burton, and travels up through the late 1990s to conclude with Brian Barton, an economist and local activist who taught at l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). Over the course of 25 episodes, listeners will hear about an array of fascinating and little-known historical characters and events, including some heretofore underappreciated contributions of women.
