The Québec government has a number of health and social services programs whose purpose is to ensure the welfare of its residents. The website offers a range of information in English.
Healthcare System User’s Rights
The RPCU (Regroupement provincial des comités des usagers) keeps a website with information on the rights of health and social services patrons in Québec. They also hold an annual Users’ Rights Week in September.

The federal ministry’s website offers information on food and nutrition, drugs and health products, health concerns, healthy living and more.

Info-santé (Info-health): 811
Info-Santé is a free and confidential telephone consultation service.
Dialling 811 promptly puts you in contact with a nurse in case of a non-urgent health issue. However, in the event of a serious problem or emergency, it is important to dial 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Anyone living in Québec can call Info-Santé 811 for themselves or a family member.
