OUR VISION

Our vision is to contribute to and promote the vitality of a thriving and inclusive English-speaking community that has access to resources and services in English, feels a sense of belonging, security and respect, and is connected through community activity.

OUR STORY

The Centre for Access to Services in English (CASE) was incorporated April 2017 as a not-for-profit community organization with a mission to support the English-speaking community of the Mauricie Centre-du-Quebec.

The development of a community organization in this region was a result of two focus groups that were held in Drummondville and Trois-Rivières in 2011 to assess whether or not the English community was interested in creating a health network. A project was then initiated in 2015 by the Centre integer de Santé et Services sociaux de la Mauricie et du Centre-du-Québec (CIUSSS-MCQ) and supported by the Megantic Community Development Corporation (MCDC) to improve access to health care services, which led to the eventual creation of CASE.

Although CASE continues to fulfil its original mission to provide referrals, assistance with navigating the health and social services sector, liaison services, and occasional translation help, CASE has grown to also provide services for older adults, children and their families, youth employment, and the promotion of community’s English-speaking culture and heritage.
