This meeting will feature a special presentation by mushroom specialist Shawn Kearney who will speak about the growing field of mycotourism in Québec.

Shawn Kearney is an avid and knowledgeable mushroom picker, having completed formal training on the topic, as well as serving as a wild plant picker for a Saguenay forestry cooperative. For the past 5 years, he grew, cooked, dehydrated, and fermented with fungi for the Mycoboutique, one of the few dedicated mushroom stores in the world.

Shawn sits on the board of directors of the Cercle des Mycologues de Montréal (the Montréal Mycological Society). He gives mushroom conferences and guided tours, and forages wild plants for local chefs.
